During an asthma attack, bronchial tubes, which carry oxygen in and out of the lungs, tend to tighten and hence reduce the flow of air coming to the lungs. The airways also become inflamed and lined with mucus. Such symptoms can occur many times in a day or week, or a lot less often. The severity of the attacks also varies.
Several triggers can cause asthma attacks and the breathlessness, which comes with it. Asthma may also cause chest pain and loss of consciousness. It is a very grave disease which can even prove to be lethal: while asthma affects 300 million people worldwide, asthma attacks account for the death of around 250,000 people yearly.

People with asthma also have to go through its side effects in their everyday life. Insomnia and sleeplessness is a regular experience that may result in fatigue during the daytime, and may affect one’s personal and professional life. The World Health Organization even acknowledges the fact that "reduced activity levels" and "school and work absenteeism" are usual side effects of asthma. Sports will usually be more difficult for asthmatic people, which can for example be a social isolation factor for a child.

Even though asthma cannot be definitely cured, doctors have found several ways to prevent and relieve the symptoms, making it possible for everybody that has asthma to stay in shape, exercise and lead a normal life. With the appropriate treatments, there are no reasons why anybody who has asthma should not be able to enjoy an active life.

Different factors can trigger an asthma attack. Some are very simple things like the humidity and temperature of the air. Nonetheless, the most usual ones are natural environmental allergens, such as pollen, spores, house dust mites or cockroaches as well as pollution from cars; tobacco smoke or chemical compounds, such as the ones found in perfumes and perfumed products. Medications such as penicillin or aspirin as well as certain foods, such as milk or peanuts, in the case of food allergies, are also able to trigger asthma. Asthma attack might also occur after exercising.

Your psychological state can also be a contributing factor in triggering an asthmatic attack. Emotional stress, anxiety and tension can all trigger it. Several people suffering from an asthmatic attack also worsen their condition by falling prey to state of panic, a very normal reaction to the dreadful experience they must endure.

In order to better prevent asthmatic attacks, these triggers ought to be avoided as much as possible. Allergies are also responsible for triggering asthma attacks and allergy treatment may be taken as a way to prevent them. There are nonetheless several types of asthma treatment. In the short-run, asthma attack treatment will provide relief in the case of an asthmatic attack. Asthma attack treatment will readily provide asthma relief, but people suffering from moderate or severe asthma must use a long-run asthma treatment.

You may find various sorts of bronchial asthma treatment available out there, but they will not all work out for you. Bronchial asthma treatment and allergy treatment also have numerous side effects if used regularly and in the long run, particularly drugs containing corticosteroids or Beta2-adrenergic receptor agonists, the latter having cardiac side effects and increasing the risk of respiratory death. Those problems may explain why approximately half of the people with asthma use some sort of alternative treatment, such as natural asthma treatment.

If little evidence proves the effectiveness of treatments such as air ionizers or chiropractic, other sorts of natural asthma treatments such as homeopathy, yoga practices and hypnosis have shown notable results as asthma treatment. Hypnotherapy, just like meditation or yoga, albeit in a much faster and easier way, provides asthma relief because it is able to help control the emotional aspect of asthma thanks to relaxation. With hypnosis you will be much more relaxed, which will help reduce the occurrences of asthmatic attacks. It will also allow you to better control the panic and fear during an attack, hence significantly reducing the symptoms. Most asthmatics are completely aware of an impending asthma attack before it happens. Thus, hypnotherapeutic techniques exist that can enable an asthma sufferer to abort an impending asthma attack before it actually happens!

Asthma is a serious respiratory disease, which can prove really handicapping and at times even lethal. Drugs will help you with the physical symptoms and might provide quick relief in the case of an attack. Nonetheless those drugs present several undesirable side effects, particularly if used too often. NLP and hypnotherapy will reduce your need for drugs. It is also an effective asthma treatment and asthma attack treatment and will help you prevent the occurrences of asthmatic symptoms.

*Article found on Neuro Vision

Depression In Children And Teenagers

Clinical depression is an illness caused by chemical imbalances in the brain that make someone constantly feel sad, aloof, negative, and unmotivated. It can last for weeks, months, or even years. It can be caused by stress, traumatic events, or nothing at all. Depression can affect people of all ages, including teenagers and even young children.

Children and teens often suffer from depression, which leaves parents with lots of questions such as: why does it happen, and what can they do for their child? The good news is that depression is treatable and some of the most effective depression treatments come in the form of Neuro-Linguistic Programming techniques.

In the past, it was believed that children and teens could not experience depression, but the truth is that depression can affect people of any age. Often, depression in children and teens is triggered by events such as a loss in the family, changing schools, a relationship breakup, illness, or abuse. Sometimes, depression occurs on its own. Depression often runs in families, meaning parents with depression are more likely to have children who also suffer from depression.

There are several different forms of depressive disorder. Most young people with depression have a form of major depressive disorder. This type interferes with a person's ability to enjoy life and engage in normal activities. Some children and teens may also suffer from a milder form of depression called Dysthymia, which is a long-term form of depression with milder symptoms than major depression. A rarer but still common form of depressive disorder is manic depression (bipolar disorder), which is characterized by sudden mood swings from extreme happiness to extreme sadness.

Depression can be a serious problem for young people because their symptoms are slightly different from the ones adults commonly display, making it more difficult to diagnose and treat. Often, young people with depression will not feel sad or "depressed" as one would expect in adults. Constant irritability is usually one of the biggest signs of depression in children and teenagers. Depression symptoms can be subtle, but may include difficulty sleeping, persistent sadness, fatigue, and decreased interest in things they used to love doing.

Children with depression may do poorly in school, have trouble making friends, or get in trouble by "acting up," a cry for attention. The effects are also pronounced for teens, who may experiment with drugs and alcohol to escape their mental depression. Depression is not the sufferer's fault, but people with depression do have the power to seek treatment and learn how to cope with their condition.

Depression help treatments can range from counseling and therapy, to the use of antidepressant medication. Group therapy can be helpful for teens and older children by providing a safe place to share their experience with their peers. Monitored online services such as depression in teenagers chat rooms can also provide a source of information for teen depression and serve as an outlet for depressed teens.

Behavioral therapy can help teach people of all ages how to manage their depression. Counseling can help families understand what triggers a child's depression. Family therapy helps educate parents on why their child has depression and what they can do to help their child.

In some cases, antidepressants or antipsychotic medications are prescribed. This is only done under the careful supervision of a doctor who will monitor the child's health and mental state. Even though people with severe depression may need to take antidepressants, these drugs can have many side effects, especially in sensitive and still-developing children and teens. For this reason, psychological counseling, understanding and support from parents and professional counselors, and the use of techniques that help children learn how to relieve their depression by themselves are considered to be better for helping young people with depression.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques can be used to treat stress, anxiety, and depression. They help people develop safe and positive coping mechanisms for dealing with depression. It is appropriate for people of all ages because it is non-invasive, does not require the use of any drugs, and is a helpful form of self-therapy.

One NLP technique used to combat depression is known as the NLP Flash. This technique reprograms the unconscious mind to use the thoughts that create stress and depression, as triggers for thoughts that create relaxation instead. It is a technique that even young people can learn to use to help them manage their depression.

People who are diagnosed with depression need not suffer. Therapeutic techniques and treatments can help depressed people of all ages live better. NLP techniques are excellent for helping young people and their families cope with anxiety and depression. These techniques can diminish or even eliminate depression in people of all ages.

*Articles found on Neuro Vision

Some people call it the 'blues' and some people call it the 'pits' and some just call it 'feeling down in the dumps'. But whatever you call it, it doe

Thanks to wars, crime, relationship difficulties, financial problems, and chemical imbalances, depression has become a common thing today. The term "depression" can be defined as a mental state (or condition) that is characterized by lack of activity and a negative sense of self.

The term "juvenile delinquency" is quite common today. Have you ever wondered why this is so? Well, researchers say that depression is the most important cause of juvenile delinquency. Inability to meet the expectations of one's parents, jealousy, and failure in love are some of the major causes of depressive behavior.

Depressive behavior gives birth to a number of problems. Excessive intake of liquor, as well as violence and addiction to narcotics are some of the most prominent side effects of depression. Careers are ruined and many families are shattered when people fall prey to the problem of depressive behavior. Not only does the quality of life of the depressed person become pathetic, the lives of the people around them can become miserable.

Depression poses innumerable threats to our health. According to a survey, people who are prone to depressive behavior are more obese compared to people who are happy. The ability of a person to make decisions largely depends on his mental health; and there is scientific evidence to the fact that depression hinders the proper functioning of the human brain. There are hundreds of thousands of adolescents and middle-aged people who commit suicide every year. And once again, depression is the very cause behind this.

Before we move on to the subject of depression treatment, let's first take a look at the various symptoms of a person who is depressed. Lack of sleep (or insomnia), failure to make sound decisions, mood swings, abusive use of drugs, sadness and pessimism are some of the most common symptoms of depression.

Manic-depressive disorder, which is commonly known as "manic depression" is another result of mental imbalance. Most of the symptoms associated with depression are also symptoms of manic depression. Clinical depression is the term that doctors use to describe the more severe cases of depression, which may include a desire to commit suicide.

There are some tried and tested methods, which serve as "depression help" tools. The first method usually resorted to are the various drugs on the market, and in some cases drug therapy is warranted. But drugs often have negative side effects, and in many cases, depending on the source of the depression, there are other forms of help available.

The good news is that depression can often be cured without the use of drugs. Medical science has proven time and again that the use of psychotherapy and hypnotherapy can help cure this disease. The roots of this ailment lie deep down inside the human mind - what we generally refer to as the "unconscious mind".

Hypnosis is the Alpha state of consciousness. We pass thorough this Alpha state as we are falling asleep at night. And we pass through it again as we are awakening in the morning. We also enter the Alpha state when we are deep in a memory visualizing and imagining what occurred in that memory. Hypnosis is actually the opposite of sleep. When a person is in hypnosis, they are wide-awake and aware of everything around them. Hypnosis helps to provide direct access to the source of the negative thoughts within the unconscious.

Many clients who are suffering from mental depression have been able to lift the depression after several sessions of hypnosis. Hypnotherapy relies on the use of visualization and post-hypnotic suggestion to treat mental depression. Today, hypnotherapists make use of dozens of hypnotherapeutic and Neuro-Linguistic techniques to help clients automatically divert their minds from thoughts that depress them, to thoughts that both relax and empower them.

Clients are often taught self hypnosis, which enables them to reinforce the work that the hypnotherapist has started. Clients are often taught how to make use of autosuggestion to ward off negative thoughts. Many people have cured themselves using self hypnosis.

Decisions made in the past affect our present and even our future to a great extent. The bad news is that one cannot change the fact that those decisions were made. But the good news is that hypnosis can help a person to release the past and move ahead with positive expectations.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming or NLP (as it is better known as) is an excellent technique for changing what we are thinking at the unconscious level of mind. NLP has helped millions to achieve happiness and success at personal as well as professional levels. NLP is effective for one and all because it doesn't rely on the use of post-hypnotic suggestions, which can be consciously resisted. NLP relies on using the same exact thought processes that created the depression, to eliminate the depression.

In summary: Hypnosis coupled with NLP can provide a powerful pair of weapons in the war against depression. Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that we pass through dozens of times everyday. One of the best things about hypnotherapy is that it does not rely upon the use of drugs. In many instances people have merely thought themselves into a depression. And in those cases hypnosis can be used to help them rapidly think themselves out of the depression and into a more balanced state of mind. Therapy can be expensive, and affordable hypnosis CDs can often provide a powerful form of relief.

*Artcile found on Nuero Vision

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://orangecountyhypnotherapy.blogspot.com/2009/01/some-people-call-it-blues-and-some.html' title='Some people call it the 'blues' and some people call it the 'pits' and some just call it 'feeling down in the dumps'. But whatever you call it, it doesn't feel very good at all.

The most common types of depression:
Major Depression, which is characterized by a sad mood, sleep disorders, and the lack of desire for food. Often when a person is in a major depression, there is a total lack of motivation and drive and the sufferer doesn't want to participate in life. Some people are completely disabled by depression, and some even consider suicide.

Dysthymia: This is a less severe form of long-term depression that generally does not totally disable the individual. But it prevents the person from feeling motivated and functioning at optimum levels. Sometimes people who are suffering with Dysthymia also suffer from Major Depression, and when this occurs it is referred to as double-depression.

Manic Depression is also known as Bipolar Disorder. This type of depression is less common than the first two. It involves cycles of the Manic state, alternated with the depressed state. This is often a long-term recurring disorder. Sometimes the mood swings are very rapid. But more often they tend to be gradual.

There are many variations of depression; the above are only the three most common.

Some of the symptoms of depression are:
Sadness; anxiety; pessimism; Insomnia and sleep disorders; guilt; feelings of worthlessness; weight loss; fatigue; restlessness; headaches; pain; and thoughts of suicide.

Sources of Depression:
Some types of depression run in families. Living in a stressful environment can lead to a depression. A trauma such as a serious loss, financial problems, or problems in a relationship can also precipitate a depression.

Women are twice as likely to become depressed as men are, but scientists do not know why.

If you are suffering from depression, you will want to consult with your physician. He may prescribe drugs for you. But you should keep in mind that every drug has side effects.

Wouldn't it be amazing if you could control and eliminate your depression just by thinking certain thoughts? I know that this might sound too simple, but very often; various types of depression are simply caused by thinking negative thoughts.

Don't believe me? Then test it out! It's really quite basic and simple. Just use your imagination to think about something that you find very sad or troubling. Go ahead, think about it right now! Then come back to this article.

Okay, so what happened? If you really got into it and visualized the sad situation, you began to feel sad and a little depressed. And the longer you allow yourself to stay in that thought pattern, the sadder you will feel. As you stay in those thoughts and keep feeling sadder, you lead yourself into a gradually deepening depression.

The good news is that if you think about a happy memory, then you will displace that sadness and depression and replace it with happy feelings.

Listen closely now, because here are the solutions to eliminating your depression: Our persistent thoughts spring forth from our unconscious mind. These are the thoughts that we find ourselves automatically thinking about throughout the day.

If the persistent thoughts that keep popping into your head are about your problems or sad experiences, then you increase your levels of stress, anxiety, and depression.

Now here is the 'Light at the end of the tunnel': Since hypnosis is a medium that we can use to change our unconscious thoughts, my NLP and self hypnosis stress management CD's will rapidly alter the way that you think, feel, and behave. The beauty here is that the same exact techniques that work for stress management also work just as well for eliminating depression!

Listen to me now, because I'm going to tell you exactly why and how it's going to happen. Hypnosis is a natural state of mind. Actually, it's the Alpha state of consciousness. We pass through the Alpha state as we fall asleep at night. And we pass through it again as we awaken in the morning. We also enter the Alpha state when we are imagining and daydreaming.

The unconscious mind is the seat of our emotions, and it's like a computer; the input controls the output! Hypnotherapy is an excellent tool for reaching directly into the unconscious mind and reprogramming it to automatically divert away from negative thoughts, and towards positive thoughts. It's a tool that allows you to bypass the consciousness to create positive expectations, which will then create positive feelings. You can overcome depression through hypnotherapy.

*Artcile found on Nuero Vision

Postpartum Depression: When Infants Fail To Thrive

Many people perceive postpartum depression as an illness affecting only the mother. Unfortunately, this is not true. The entire family experiences relationship changes that alter family dynamics drastically. Depressed mothers who do not seek treatment often place their infants at risk for serious or fatal delays in growth and development.

The medical term for this complex problem is nonorganic failure to thrive. Nonorganic means that there is no medical cause for the infant's delays. Because of the mother's postpartum depression, she often stops meeting the baby's nutritional and emotional needs. Although the baby may cry for food at first, he or she often loses interest and stops interacting with other people. This disorder can result in malnutrition, starvation, and even death.

Doctors use growth charts to track a baby's physical growth in height, weight, and head size. If the baby is healthy at birth, his or her size will be within the normal range on the growth charts. If the baby begins to experience serious growth delays, this will be apparent by comparing his or her progress with normal growth charts. Once the baby's growth is below the fifth percentile, doctors become seriously concerned.

Other symptoms may become evident before the baby's growth problems reach this critical point. Most infants who grow normally are curious about their surroundings. In contrast, infants who fail to thrive have little or no interest in their environment. These babies do not usually make sounds or words; they have stopped trying to respond to their caregivers.

How serious is failure to thrive? If untreated, a child can starve to death. Even if the baby grows enough to remain alive, his or her heart, lungs, and brain cannot develop properly. Furthermore, even if they are treated, these children never "catch up" completely. They often develop social problems or eating disorders, even after they begin to have their needs met.

Infants diagnosed with failure to thrive often become critically ill from malnutrition. They are often hospitalized for weeks or months. Sometimes, they become so weakened that feeding from a bottle is too tiring. They receive feedings via a tube placed in their stomachs, or even in their vein to receive nutrition!

The most tragic aspect of failure to thrive is that it is so preventable. If mothers with postpartum depression identify this problem when it begins, they can get help and never have to subject their helpless infant to these terrible complications. In fact, studies have shown that nine-tenths of the women suffering from depression who seek treatment will experience significant improvement!

A variety of approaches is used to treat postpartum depression. Some doctors use medications, such as antidepressants. These medicines are expensive. They should also be avoided in nursing mothers. Moreover, antidepressants can cause suicidal thoughts; these medications should be used with extreme caution.

Frequently, doctors recommend counseling instead of or in addition to medications. Psychotherapy, however, can be expensive. In addition, it can be time-consuming, and several weeks may pass before this therapy is successful. Unfortunately, depending on the severity of the woman's depression, this may be too long for her baby. If the baby begins to experience growth delays, additional treatment may be required.

Fortunately, other non-medicinal treatment options are available. Two innovative, effective approaches that typically offer results much more quickly than counseling, and are much less dangerous than medication, are Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and hypnotherapy for depression. NLP and hypnosis usually begin to help after even a single session. In addition, they are much less expensive than other approaches.

Mothers who suspect they have postpartum depression need to seek treatment immediately so that their infants do not develop dangerous growth delays. The seriousness of the consequences for the baby demands that the treatment work quickly, and have a high rate of effectiveness. NLP and hypnosis for depression are inexpensive, work quickly, and are highly effective. This makes these two treatments ideal for treating postpartum depression.

Summary: Postpartum depression is depression that occurs after childbirth. These new mothers cannot give their babies the attention they need to survive and thrive. This causes failure to thrive, a serious, potentially deadly disorder, affecting the infant. Mothers who suspect that they have postpartum depression should get treatment as soon as possible. Hypnosis and NLP for depression are inexpensive and have demonstrated amazing effectiveness.

*Article found on <a href="http://www.neuro-vision.us/Articles/postpartum-depression-when-infants-fail-to-thrive.html" onclick="window.open(this.href,'','resizable=yes,location=yes,menubar=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,toolbar=yes,fullscreen=yes,dependent=no,status'); But you may be surprised to find out that not any old type of exercise will do - in fact, studies consistently show that there are two basic types of exercise that are both highly efficient and successful.
Because so many people have trouble with exercise motivation, performing the most efficient types of exercise is imperative, since the less time you spend exercising - and the less time you waste on inefficient exercise - the more likely you will be to continue to exercise and therefore to reach your personal weight and strength goals.

The first type of exercise that has been consistently shown to help people lose weight and get in shape is progressive resistance. In brief, progressive resistance is a particular type of strength training. It works by progressively ramping up the amount of weight lifted, the number of sets, and number of reps performed. The result is that muscle fibers are never strained or damaged - instead, they slowly and steadily strengthen without any setbacks.

The second type of exercise that has been thoroughly studied is cardiovascular training. This name is given to any type of exercise that gets the heart rate up to 60 - 85 percent of its maximum. Examples of cardio training could include jogging, jump rope, aerobics, or treadmill, among others, but the choice is up to you.

Although progressive resistance and cardio training alone have been found to be highly efficient forms of exercise, it turns out that combining them is the best bet for success. By performing both progressive resistance and cardio training, you will strengthen muscle groups and build whole-body endurance. In a recent study, exercisers who participated in both cardio and progressive resistance over a two-month period lost 45 percent more weight than those doing cardio or progressive resistance alone.

Just as important as the type of exercise you perform is the way in which you exercise. It probably will come as no surprise that consistency is the name of the game. Exercising irregularly may strain your muscles and will probably not help build strength and endurance. Nor will it improve your overall health. According to many experts, the best plan is to exercise for 40 minutes to an hour 3 - 5 times per week.

Unfortunately, for a significant subset of the population, getting enough exercise is not just as easy as going to the gym several times every week or listening to what the experts say. For these people, exercise motivation is the primary problem - they simply don't want to go to the gym. In fact, they may dread any and all exercise, to the point of severe anxiety.

It is not known what percentage of the American population suffers from problems with motivation to exercise, but experts say that up to 20 to 40 percent of people claim that they "hate" or "dread" exercise. Even more people may have milder exercise motivation problems, finding that although it is easy enough to commit to an exercise plan for a week or two, motivation eventually fades, leaving them where they started - out of shape and overweight.

If you are one of these people who struggles with exercise motivation, the good news is that there are some simple ways to deal with it. In a recent study, volunteers who needed to begin an exercise program received a brief educational program that helped them choose the right types of exercise, were matched with a motivational therapist, and received a short course in exercise motivation hypnosis. After six months, they were re-evaluated. It turns out that over 85 percent of the volunteers had adhered to an exercise program during the entire six months. Better yet, they had lost an average of fifteen more pounds than the control group.

If you are interested in the results of this study, it might make sense to look into finding a motivational therapist, habit control therapist, or counselor who specializes in hypnotherapy. These therapists are specially trained in helping to overcome anxieties, develop exercise motivation, and reinforce good habit formation. Another option for exercise motivation is self-hypnosis - a simple and inexpensive process that helps individuals harness their own innate powers of motivation.

Hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis are risk-free ways of increasing motivation that have been proven to provide success in the case of exercise motivation. Hypnosis works by using simple relaxation to elicit the powers of the unconscious mind to influence behavior modification and habit formation. Hypnotherapy is a good choice for the exercise adverse because it can help provide the motivation to get in shape and lose weight easily and effectively.

*Article found on <a href="http://www.neuro-vision.us/Articles/hypnosis_for_exercise-motivation.html" onclick="window.open(this.href,'','resizable=yes,location=yes,menubar=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,toolbar=yes,fullscreen=yes,dependent=no,status'); Maintaining motivation to stick to weight loss goals when everyone else wants to hibernate is easy with hypnotism for weight loss.

Most people who are trying to get back into shape agree that motivation is particularly difficult when the weather changes, so what if you could stay committed to your diet and exercise plan simply by watching a self hypnosis weight loss DVD or listening to a CD?

Better yet, a hypnotherapy weight loss program can reduce your cravings too.

Hypnotism for weight loss works simply, but effectively, by guiding you to a state of deep relaxation during which your subconscious mind can more readily accept suggestions, such as the ones that will keep you motivated to stay on your fitness track, even in the midst of winter.

It is a known fact that if a person exercises, it will speed up his/her metabolism and increase the rate that weight is lost. Some of the most successful hypnosis for exercise motivation techniques comes from Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP.

With NLP, the unconscious is programmed to use the same exact thought processes that are creating a problem, to eliminate it. In other words, the same thought processes that the unconscious utilizes to create cravings and oral compulsions could be used to completely eliminate them! And similarly, the same processes can be used to increase your motivation to exercise.

Anchoring is a NLP technique that can be used to give you a "switch" for triggering feelings and behaviors. Creating a weight loss hypnosis anchor works simply and effectively like this: A qualified hypnotherapy weight loss practitioner will safely guide you into a tranquil hypnotic state. Then the hypnotherapist will ask you to identify a time when you were happy and excited about anything in your life.

The goal of this exercise is to remember and re-experience as many sensations as possible from various times in your life when you felt motivated and eager to do anything at all. Then, the weight loss hypnosis therapist will ask you to anchor those feelings by simply touching two fingers together.

Next you will be asked to use your imagination to see yourself exercising and enjoying it. As you create this mental image, you'll trigger your anchor by touching those two fingers together again. When you do that, your unconscious mind will connect the feeling of excitement and eagerness from the other memory, to the thought of exercising.

From this point on, any time you wish to feel motivated to exercise, you can simply trigger your anchor and re-experience those same positive feelings that will motivate you to workout. NLP in weight loss hypnosis can even be used to discourage behaviors, so you can easily overcome cravings. That sounds much easier and encouraging than beating yourself up for missing a workout or giving into temptation, doesn't it?

A successful weight loss hypnosis program will also address the root cause of weight gain for many of us, namely a lack of self-esteem. In a relaxed state, you can be given post-hypnotic suggestions that will build your self-esteem as you lose each pound. (The lack of self-esteem is a big factor in being overweight.)

Many people wonder if, after trying every fad diet and buying every piece of exercise equipment on the market, something as straight forward as weight loss hypnosis can work for them. The good news is that it has been found that all normal people are hypnotizable to a greater or lesser extent. However, it should be noted that people with less than a 70 I.Q. or those who are in an active state of psychosis or with senility generally are not hypnotizable.

But for the rest of us, hypnotism for weight loss can actually help us look forward to working out and eating healthily. That said, the biggest proponent for success in any fitness routine, whether it includes weight loss hypnosis or not, is wanting to achieve your weight loss goals.

On a related note, that is exactly why you can not force someone to undergo weight loss hypnotherapy simply by giving them suggestions. If someone is resistant to an idea, no amount of weight loss hypnosis they hear or see will be effective. Referring to the NLP explanation above, if someone does not have a memory of feeling motivated or positive, they can still be successful with NLP and hypnotherapy because they can imagine what it would feel like if they felt that way, and anchor the imagined feelings.

So, if you are like many of us and find your motivation dwindling as the temperatures drop and the days get darker, weight loss hypnosis can help regain (or maintain) your enthusiasm for carrying out and finally achieving your fitness goals.

*Article found on Neuro Vision

Hypnosis to Enhance Sports Performance:

Olympic Star Athlete Angela Bailey describes how hypnosis makes all the difference Better Sports with Hypnosis

By Angela Bailey

I first became involved with self hypnosis as a young sprinter around the age of 20. I dreamed of being an Olympic champion, but I was faced with a major challenge. A psychological barrier, my first real obstacle, stood in my way.

It was a work-out that only a few elite athletes in the world could do. This was my Mount Everest. I was told by my coach that if I wanted to move to the next level of my development that it had to be done.

Will power was unable to help me.

I did want to move to the next level, but for months, each time I stood at the start line to begin the workout, I felt this overwhelming feeling of nausea and dizziness. I just could not do it.

I think it is important to note that I never really had to go through this obstacle, if I had chosen to take, performance enhancing drugs. I simply could have swallowed some pills, felt no pain, and just moved forward. Many athletes were taking the fast and easy way to the top, but that is another story.

However, for me cheating by taking drugs was just not an option. I was strongly motivated by the belief that something bigger than myself gave me this gift, and it was not just so that I could win races at any cost, but rather to find out what I was truly capable of in life. Back to my story...

Every time I approached to begin the work-out, I 'willed' myself to do it by saying positive statements and seeing an Olympic medal around my neck, but those negative feelings stayed right with me. I knew the workout was going to hurt, and I would be in a lot of pain.

Imagination always wins over will power.

Finally I realized that I could not allow fear, in this case the fear of pain, to keep me from my dreams. I decided to go to the library, and search for some answers, and I found a book about hypnosis in sports or visualization (self hypnosis).

It was Thursday, and I was determined to do the work-out on Monday. I followed the instructions for sports hypnosis and imagined myself doing the entire work-out. Again and Again.

On Monday, I stood at the start line with the guys (no female athlete could run as fast as me), and I accomplished what had been impossible with 'will power', and instead I tapped the power of my subconscious mind, and overcame my obstacle.

Hypnosis in sports helped me move to the next level, and it can help YOU unlock YOUR potential.

I did feel pain, after the work-out, but I also experienced a feeling of awe as my body moved exactly as I had imagined it in my mind. I improved quickly, because my body was already prepared to do what my mind would not let me. Even though I was already a world class athlete, my goal was to become an Olympic medalist.

That year, because of the breakthrough with self hypnosis, I broke the existing Canadian Record for the 100 metres. The next year at age 22, I had my Olympic medal.

You too may be ready to move to the next level of your development, but you accept the fear of the unknown or the known, and do nothing. Allow hypnosis to conquer your fear, and unlock the potential inside you.

Angela Bailey is a board certified professional hypnotherapist practicing in the City of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her clientele is wide ranging and includes recreational, national, and world ranked athletes, celebrities, authors, dancers, business people, and many others.

Hypnosis and Your Money Habits

[Adapted from Dr Knight's Health and Happiness with Hypnosis]

You Can Enjoy Saving and Spending

Many habits are either taught to us or are such an integral part of our social landscape that we adopt them without thinking. Culture determines, for example, what we will, and will not, habitually eat, e.g. earthworms vs. escargots, cows vs. dogs, flesh vs. vegetables.

Some habits (e.g., picking your nose) may be widespread but are acceptable only when done in private.

Other habits (e.g., the ritual “hello, how are you?” greeting) are designed to smooth interaction among people.

Such habits are also culturally conditioned. Which, for instance, is why men have dropped the habit of opening doors for women.

Consciously or subconsciously, we choose our habits.

All habits are reinforced by self-talk, repetitive thinking and doing, and acceptance of their “rightness”, in other words, by self-hypnosis.

Habits which interfere with your health and happiness, or that of other people, can and should be changed. Hypnotherapy is an effective avenue for such change.

Married three months, Nathan and Charlotte had radically different money habits. Nathan was a spendthrift and Charlotte was a penny pincher. This difference put a tremendous strain on their otherwise excellent relationship. Each was convinced of the rightness of his or her behavior with money. Heated arguments only served to entrench their opposing viewpoints.

Individual hypnotherapy enabled Nathan and Charlotte to understand the origins of their money behaviors. Then they were freed to discuss how, instead of slavishly following what each had come to believe was the right way to handle money, they could together work out a solution.

Nathan became aware that he lavished money on others as a way of persuading them to like him. His main problem was low self-esteem. Even his grand purchases for himself were attempts to bolster his self-worth. The habit of spending every dollar that came in was so entrenched in Nathan that he had not noticed how fleeting were the benefits.

Charlotte came from a rich family. She absorbed the family's preoccupation with holding onto their fortune, their fear of destitution.

Through hypnotherapy Charlotte came to understand how she received no joy from being wealthy; how, indeed, her money habits brought her anxiety and tension.

Their new understandings led them to practice new behaviors. Charlotte made a point of spending some money each week on something frivolous.

Also every week she would give some cash directly to a person or charitable cause. And she spent money (not necessarily a lot) every week on a surprise for Nathan. Charlotte soon realized she was enjoying her wealth.

For his part, Nathan arranged with the brokerage firm which employed him to pay his salary directly into a new bank account. He withdrew a limited amount each two weeks and left the balance to gain interest. He quickly found pleasure in watching the balance grow.

The “friends” Nathan used to cultivate with his generosity soon fell away but after a while Nathan made new friends, people who liked him for himself, not his monetary gifts.

As Charlotte had more fun and Nathan strengthened his self-esteem; they developed new habits, such as dining out regularly. Each understood the other better, and their marriage flourished.

Can Hypnosis Snuff Out a Smoker's Cigarette Habit?

New study finds hypnotism is an effective smoking-cessation technique

By Lindsay Chura
Posted June 23, 2008
http://health.usnews.com/articles/health/respiratory-disorders/2008/06/23/can-hypnosis-snuff-out-a-smokers-cigarette-habit.html

Smokers trying to quit sometimes use nicotine patches to fight their tobacco dependence. But patches don't work for everyone. New research suggests that patches might be made more effective if used in combination with hypnosis, just as they tend to work better when used in conjunction with professional counseling. A recently published study showed hypnotherapy to be as effective as standard behavioral counseling when combined with nicotine patches in helping smokers to quit and stay off cigarettes for one year.
"This study provides much-needed evidence that hypnosis is indeed a very helpful treatment," says lead author Timothy Carmody.

During hypnotherapy, Carmody explained, patients are coaxed into a relaxed state and then provided with a series of skills for coping with withdrawal symptoms and the urge to smoke. Patients are given an audiotape of this training to reinforce these messages at home, and over time it is hoped they will gain increased confidence in their ability to stay off cigarettes for the long term.

Hypnotherapy is one of many alternative therapies gaining wider acceptance at some of the nation's best hospitals and medical research institutes.

The study, conducted at the San Francisco VA Medical Center and the University of California-San Francisco, was published in the May issue of Nicotine & Tobacco Research. A total of 286 participants were randomly divided and received either hypnosis or standard behavioral counseling aimed at smoking cessation. During standard behavioral counseling, patient and counselor discussed the dangers of smoking and the benefits of quitting. Participants in both groups were seen for two 60-minute sessions and received three 20-minute follow-up calls to reinforce the messages discussed in either the hypnosis or behavioral counseling treatment sessions.

Hypnosis was particularly helpful for would-be quitters who reported a history of depression. That finding suggests that smokers who have struggled with depression—or perhaps with other psychiatric conditions, Carmody says—might someday receive hypnosis as part of the quitting process.

Brian Hitsman, assistant professor of preventive medicine at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, called the results encouraging and added that the hypnotic intervention evaluated in the study may have the potential to serve as another nonpharmacological treatment option in addition to standard counseling. But Hitsman emphasized that hypnosis may boost smoking cessation rates only when combined with nicotine patch therapy. "This study says nothing about the potential effect of the hypnosis intervention in the absence of a nicotine patch," he said.

What lies ahead for the field of smoking cessation? An important focus will be to evaluate the extent to which the effectiveness of hypnosis or behavioral counseling can be improved if patients remain on them long term (more than 12 months), Hitsman explained. He takes the perspective that nicotine dependence should be treated more like a chronic medical condition, much like the approach taken in the management of diabetes. "For most people, smoking begins in adolescence and persists across the life span, with multiple periods of remission and relapse. Acute care is the current model, with treatments typically given up to 12 weeks. For many, successful cessation will require ongoing intervention."

According to statistics released late last year by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 45 million people in the United States smoke. Despite antismoking ad campaigns blanketing the country, cigarette use remains the leading preventable cause of death in the United States, accounting for 1 death in 5. Smoking claims 438,000 lives each year. Kentucky, West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Mississippi top the list of states with the highest prevalence of current smokers, while Utah, California, and Idaho have the lowest percentages of smokers lighting up in the nation.

Tranquil Solutions Hypnotherapy

Dispelling the Top Ten Myths

HypnoGenesis - 2004 September 30, Thursday

Magazine for Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy
by Anna F. Fox, C.Ht. and Terril D. Starks, C.Ht.

Myth #1: The Hypnotist will be able to control my mind.

Fact: No one can control your mind, unless you let them. Your Hypnotherapist will give you suggestions that you want to be given, based on the Pre-Hypnotic Interview. At no point during your session will you lose control of your mind. If you hear a suggestion that you don't agree with, or don't understand, your subconscious mind will automatically reject it.

Myth #2: I will be made to perform embarrassing acts, such as bark like a dog, or walk like a duck.

Fact: This assumption is based on Stage Hypnotism and Hollywood fiction. The truth is, these people volunteer to act on stage, and they allow themselves to participate in silly suggestions. Hypnotherapy is a serious process of self-improvement, not entertainment.

Myth #3: Hypnosis comes from "Black Magic" or is "Supernatural".

Fact: Hypnosis is a natural state that has been studied scientifically. Hypnotherapists are not Psychics or Palm Readers with "special powers". Hypnotherapy is based on many years of clinical research by famous Psychologists such as Dr. Sigmund Freud and Dr. Carl Jung, and more recently, by Dr. Milton Erikson and Dr. John Kappas.

Myth #4: If I become Hypnotized, I may not be able to snap out of it, or Hypnosis is Dangerous.

Fact: Hypnosis is very safe and is in fact, a state of hyper-awareness. Any time there is an emergency, a person would naturally be able to come out of the Hypnotic state by opening their eyes, and stretching or speaking.

Myth #5: I have never been in Hypnosis before.

Fact: Every person naturally enters a state of hypnosis at least twice everyday: just before falling asleep at night, and upon awaking every morning, before getting out of bed. Most people easily enter 'Environmental Hypnosis' while at the movies, watching TV, driving on the highway, or while reading a good book.

Myth #6: Hypnosis is a "Miracle Cure".

Fact: While Hypnosis is a relatively quick method of making permanent improvements, there is no such thing as a one-time "Hypno-Miracle"! Every individual makes progress at his or her own rate. Be weary of those who make wild claims of overnight success.

Myth #7: Hypnosis is a great tool to get someone to "confess".

Fact: Hypnotherapy sessions are kept private and cannot be used for court testimony. It is not an alternative to lie detector tests. Hypnosis cannot force anyone to "tell the truth" or to confess.

Myth #8: When Hypnotized, I will lose all sense of my surroundings, and will have no memory of the session.

Fact: hypnosis is not an unconscious state of sleep. In fact, most people report having a heightened sense of awareness, concentration and focus, and can even hear more acutely during a session.

Myth #9: Self-Hypnosis is safer, better, or more effective than going to a trained professional.

Fact: Self-Hypnosis can be detrimental when not taught by a trained professional, as a negative attitude or belief about oneself will be reinforced regardless of suggestions given. This can cause more stress and problems in the long run. Hypnotherapy directly accesses the subconscious mind, while Self-Hypnosis cannot.

Myth #10: I can't be hypnotized because my mind is too strong/ disciplined.

Fact: this is an archaic belief that has, in recent times, been proven untrue. It was thought, long ago, that only 50% of the population could be hypnotized. Over the last 30 years, Dr. John Kappas developed methods to induce hypnosis in 100% of the population. During your first session, we utilize Dr. Kappas' methods, and will be able to determine what type of suggestibility you have, and hence, how to Hypnotize you. Because it is your decision to use Hypnosis for self-improvement, your mind has already accepted the idea of Hypnotherapy.

Tranquil Solutions Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis may help anxious teens

Self hypnosis could be useful in aiding treatment for children suffering from anxiety, research has suggested.

A small study found that hypnotherapy helped psychological treatment in reducing anxiety and feelings of helplessness in students.

The effects of hypnotherapy were found to be greater than those of more traditional relaxation techniques.

The research, conducted at Hampshire Hypnotherapy Centre, was revealed to the British Psychological Society.

David Byron, a senior specialist educational psychologist for Hampshire County Council studied 10 pupils, aged 11 to 16, being treated at the centre for emotional behavioural difficulties related to anxiety.

"It seems to empower the students to change their lives"
David Byron

The students received psychological treatment in sessions with their parents during which they set things they wanted to change about their lives. They were then taught how to self-hypnotise and work towards these targets.

Mr Byron said the hypnotherapy acted as a useful vehicle for the psychological treatment, and he found it produced greater effects than were seen in students using more traditional relaxation techniques.

He said hypnotherapy could be used to influence the treatment process and could be used by psychologists as "an adjunct" to their professional training.

He said: "It seems to empower the students to change their lives and it's not me doing it, it's them."

Mr Byron said hypnotherapy could also be useful to help with a number of other treatments, and that he would like to see the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services nationwide employing people to offer a hypnotherapy service to patients.

He said: "There is no doubt it has a tremendous amount to offer."

Anxiety common

Ian Goodyer, Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge said anxiety is a significant problem in children aged 11-15. He said: "Children may have symptoms such as panic attacks, they may show avoidance behaviours, or they may have sensitivity and worry about what other people may be thinking about them."

He said standard treatments included educating them about their anxiety, and methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy.

He said hypnotherapy had been used widely as a relaxation technique to reduce anxiety, and the idea that it could aid other psychological treatments was "interesting", but he called for more research into the area.

He said: "It is an interesting thought that now requires proper randomised controlled trials."

Interestingly, in this trial the students' teachers said they had seen more changes in the students using the relaxation techniques. But Mr Byron speculated this may be because the hypnotherapy produced cognitive and emotional changes.

He said: "I think there was a direct contrast between the pupils and parents' observations with those of the teachers because the teachers have less time to become aware of the changes going on inside the pupils' minds, especially in the teenage years."

The results of this research into the Hypnotherapy Centre were revealed at The British Psychological Society's Division of Educational and Child Psychology annual conference in Glasgow.

Sourced from the BBC

"Hypnosis May Help Anxious Teens."

5 Jan. 2007. 17 July 2008

<http: uk="" hypnomag="" hypnosisnews="" htm=""></http:><http://www.hypnos.co.uk/hypnomag/hypnosisnews/hypnosisteens.htm>.

Break Your Worst Health Habit--OVERNIGHT!

I did not write this article but I found it on Glamour Magazine's website:
http://www.glamour.com/health/articles/2008/08/worst_health_habit?currentPage=1

This isn't some infomercial come-on; new studies show that hypnotherapy can conquer just about any bad-for-you obsession. Lynn Harris investigates.

As a kid, I bit the hell out of my fingernails. In young adulthood, I shifted my attacks to the skin around them: pulling and picking, nibbling and tearing, sometimes until it bled. On a bad day, it looked like I'd just bottle-fed a barracuda. "Ooh, what happened to your fingers?" people would frown and say if I failed to keep them hidden. Um, I ate them?

Manicurists would literally yell at me and yank my hands over to show colleagues. I wanted to stop but couldn't. Until a few months ago. I walked into a hypnotherapist's office at 10 A.M., walked out at noon and haven't nibbled my fingers since.

The word hypnosis may conjure visions of the time you saw The Amazing Boris get the shyest wallflower to dance like a chicken, or of a creepy B-movie guy swinging a watch, chanting, "You arrrre getting sleeeeepy." But unlike stage and screen hypnosis, hypnotherapy--in which patients are verbally guided into a "trance" by a trained psychotherapist--is a legitimate treatment tool endorsed by the American Psychological Association. And it's becoming more and more mainstream. "Hypnosis has a long and checkered history," says Jean Fain, a psychotherapist who uses hypnosis in her Massachusetts practice. "But there's a growing body of quality research showing that it can help with everything from behavioral problems and bad habits to anxiety and irritable bowel syndrome." How hypnotizable are you?

If you think you could never relax enough for hypnosis to work for you, that may be a sign you're the perfect candidate. "Being anxious means you have a very vivid mind that can easily make up a worst-case scenario," says Elvira Lang, M.D., an associate professor of radiology at Harvard Medical School who has done research on hypnosis. If you can do that, she says, then your mind is also well-suited to make up a better story line--and imagine yourself changing. You may also be a strong candidate if you're a dreamer, "the sort of person who gets lost in a movie or fantasy easily," says David Spiegel, M.D., associate chair of psychiatry at Stanford University School of Medicine. Ten to 15 percent of people are considered highly hypnotizable, and another 50 percent moderately so, he says. That leaves about one third who are hard to entrance. They tend to be logical, thinky people who would rather read while relaxing than daydream.

Still, experts say the strongest predictor of success in hypnotherapy is motivation to change, whether it's quitting smoking, losing weight or dealing with anxiety--the most common issues for which women seek hypnosis. "You don't need to 'believe' in hypnosis for it to work," says New York City psychotherapist Ana Tucker (the hypnogoddess I went to). "You just have to be willing to go through the process."

Many who do like the results. Recent research from North Shore Medical Center in Salem, Massachusetts, found that half of people who used hypnotherapy to stop smoking were still cigarette-free in six months, versus just 16 percent of nicotine-replacement users and 25 percent of people who went cold turkey. As for weight loss, a review of previous research found that people who did hypno- and talk therapy were able to lose more than twice the weight of their counterparts who did talk therapy alone--an average of almost 15 pounds instead of six.

How it works:

Hypnosis appears to circumvent the part of the brain that says, There's no way this will help. If someone said to you right now, "The next time you see a cheesecake, you'll want a carrot instead," you'd laugh (and dig in). But if someone makes that kind of suggestion when you're under hypnosis, it sneaks past your rational mind and into the part of your brain that influences action.

Brain imaging studies have illustrated just how this sidestepping may work. Generally, if you see the word red written in green ink and someone asks you what color you see, it takes your brain an extra moment to sort out that the word is red but the ink is green. But when people are hypnotized and told that they'll have no trouble naming the colors they'll see, their brains sort it out with zero hesitation, researchers at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City found. Brain images showed that during the experiment, the part of the brain that would normally kick in to resolve conflict wasn't active at all--hypnosis actually changed the way the subjects' brains functioned.

OK, so there may be scientific proof that hypnosis does something to your brain. But outside the lab, does it feel as wacky as those B-movie scenes? Actually, no; it's more like therapy. In my appointment with Tucker, she started with general questions about my gross finger-picking habit. When did I do it most? (When restless, overwhelmed or trying to concentrate on work.) How does it make me feel? (Crappy, ashamed and immature.) How would I feel if I didn't do it? (Awesome.) Once she had enough background, I sat in her giant hypno-Barcalounger and she guided me verbally into a deep relaxation--a trance--telling me to envision a light over my head warming my body, and to imagine each part of my body getting heavier and heavier.

This kind of relaxation, it should be noted, isn't the passive, on-the-beach variety. The trance state is actually an active, focused type of concentration. "It's like looking through a telephoto lens in a camera," Dr. Spiegel explains. "What you see is visible in great detail, but you don't notice the surroundings."

Once I was relaxed, the real work began. Tucker guided me, with more and more pointed questions, to envision just what part of me was responsible for this nail- and finger-biting business--and what that part of me was getting out of it. It felt like the whole world had dissolved down to just my head and Tucker's voice; I was able to answer her questions spontaneously and reflexively--and what came out was that I was nibbling to distract myself, to take a breath, to think about fewer than seven things at once, to relax. When it all came together, I felt myself tear up. I could have spent years in therapy figuring out, you know, how my parents were to blame or something; here, the whole thing took just about two hours.

After Tucker gradually brought me out of the trance, not two minutes had passed before I found myself reaching to pick at a finger. The difference this time? I noticed, and stopped. Before, I'd have peeled off a hunk of skin before even realizing my hand was in my mouth. But this time I felt like I had a choice. The same thing happened the next day, and the next. I remain completely amazed.

Of course, not everyone can expect such a quick change. For people with less, er, bite-size problems than mine, up to six sessions or more (at $65 to $300 per session), combined with traditional talk therapy, may be recommended--along with ongoing practice at home, possibly with a CD recorded during the session--and some people still won't get the results they want. (Tucker gave me a recording that I've listened to several times to relax--but I haven't needed it for any "relapses.") In fact, you should be wary of hypno-tists who promise instant success. A reputable hypnotherapist is a licensed psychologist or social worker who has had special training. You can find a list of therapists in your area through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis at asch.net--and don't be afraid to ask a practitioner what kind of education she's had. Can you do it yourself?

"It can be very helpful to have a therapist guiding you, but ultimately, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis," says Cleveland psychotherapist Belleruth Naparstek. One way to do it yourself is with an audio CD or download much like the ones that therapists may send patients home with after a session. If you decide to try it, look for an audio program labeled "relaxation," "guided imagery," "guided meditation" or "self-hypnosis," says Naparstek--and, of course, it should focus on the specific problem you want to address. You might even try a hypnosis script that you read to yourself (many are available where audio programs are sold). Megan Key, 25, of Seattle, used one to help herself relax and stop grinding her teeth at night: "After doing it once a day for a week, I no longer woke up with my jaw clenched." (And she saved the $500 she was going to spend on a mouth guard.)

Five months after my hypnotherapy session with Tucker, my hands all pretty and healed, I've actually lost the urge to bite most days. During occasional moments when I do feel a desire to nibble, or I see a hangnail emerging, I can say, "Eh, I'll leave it until I can get a nail clipper." And then I can actually think about other things, like writing this story, or getting my nails done without getting yelled at. Imagine that.

Ex-nail biter Lynn Harris is the author of Death by Chick Lit.

Hypnotherapy Helps with Child and Teen Issues

Do your children have issues?

If so, hypnosis can be used to help in many ways, including helping children:

Learn to love themselves and treat themselves with kindness, so they can grow up knowing the truth, which is that there is nothing wrong with them. Teens who do it say that the physical pain distracts them from mental or emotional distress. Other teens feel that self-mutilation gives them a feeling of self control over their lives.

What this means is that nearly half the teens you know feel so bad about themselves that they are hurting themselves. It breaks my heart to think that many of the adults I treat have been living in misery for decades. As a Certified Hypnotherapist I work with people to overcome bad habits, fears, weight management problems, stress, self esteem, confidence, and other problems. Hypnotherapy truly gets results. When I work with a client it takes only five sessions to help them overcome their problem and feel good about themselves…Finally.

I wish I could have worked with my older clients when they were younger, before they took their bad feelings and added bad habits to distract them from their pain. The more parents know about what is going on with their child, the more the child can be helped. Most people find adolescence to be a difficult time in their lives. Some people live with the pain forever. THEY DON’T HAVE TO!

I Am the Foremost Expert in Southern California
In Utilizing Hypnotherapy to Work with
Children and Teens

As a former middle school special education teacher, I am especially skilled at building rapport with parents and children. I love working with children, even those that others find “difficult.” I find it truly rewarding to help young people permanently improve their self esteem, confidence and ability to learn, and overcome issues related to emotional problems, motivation, anger management, fears, anxiety and trauma. Taking care of these issues early can prevent even bigger issues later.

Marc Drucker, MS, CH Certified Hypnotherapist
My Website
(949) 460-6402
